Pigmentation

TECHNOLOGY: MICRONEEDLING

Sunspots are superficial spots that develop in the top layer of the skin as a result of excess melanin – the pigment that determines skin color.

Melanin is responsible, among other things, for defending the skin’s cells against sunlight. Exposure to UV rays promotes increased synthesis of Melanin, which ideally would lead to a uniform tanning of the skin, but mostly causes hyperpigmentation in various body parts, most commonly the face, décolletage and hands.

Exposure to sunlight often leads to excess  synthesis of melanin that accrues in one spot and migrates under the outer layer of the skin, causing a hyperpigmentation spot.

There are several types of hyperpigmentation, including melasma (sometimes referred to as “mask of pregnancy”). Melasma is most common in young women, and is associated with hormonal imbalance or use of contraceptives.

Melasma spots are wide and symmetrical and most often appear on the face, cheeks, central part of the forehead and above the upper lip. Despite their similarities, sunspots are fundamentally different from age spots, found in the deeper layers of the skin, and therefore require longer treatments over longer periods of time to remove.

We, at Individuel combine professional treatment in the clinic with home care to lighten and remove spots.

Our treatment infuses brightening ingredients deeply into the skin using micro-needling.

MTS

Micro-needling is a treatment that uses repeated puncturing of the skin using tiny needles that pierce the skin but don’t go through it. During this procedure we insert into the canals formed by the needles specialized quality ingredients that brighten the skin and prevent migration of melanin, to restore the skin and stimulate creation of missing collagen and elastin fibers.

The ingredients

The ingredients are prepared by expert pharmacists working in close cooperation with us. They slow down the rate of melanin synthesis, prevent darkening of melanin as a result of exposure to sunlight, and inhibit its migration to the outer layer of the skin.

They contain 6 skin whitening antioxidants and 14 other active ingredients extracted from plants, clinically proven to be effective in brightening pigmentation spots, such as Tetra Pure (extracted from Turmeric) and O.D.A White (extracted from olive oil). They also contain hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and more.
